Activities within seabuckthorn:
1984-1989 Collective farm „Uzvara”, introduction, evaluation and cultivation of seabuckthorn varieties
1991 - working in Sweden, Balsgard Fruit Breeding institute, performing research about seabuckthorn vegetative propagation. Results are published in the annual of 1990-1991 „Forokning av havtorn med vedartade sticklingar”. Balsgard, Verksamhetsberattelse
1999 - consulting seabuckthorn researchers in Canada, British Columbia, Summerland Research and Development Centre about establishing of seabuckthorn plantations and developing of manual fruit shaker „Woodpecker-1”.
2003 - advisor of Estonian seabuckthorns growers association „A-Mari”.
From 2005 member of board of the Latvian Association of fruit growers, leader of seabuckthorn department.
Owner of seabuckthorn nursery of young plants , producing 200 000 plants annually, www.bruwell.lv
Breeder of three seabuckthorn varieties widely grown in orchards of Baltic states and Canada, Quebec.
Created a gentle cut-harvest pruning method for sensitive and developed seabuckthorn varieties.
2014 together with Dalija Segliņa written a book „Seabuckthorn”.
About 20 articles about seabuckthorn written in different Latvian journals. Held lectures in Sweden and Poland about growing of seabuckthorn.
